Fine Art- Chameleon Project Part 3- Phoenix Part 2

I continued to experiment with my Phoenix looking at the different wing structures and how I wanted to paint it. I looked through many different types of birds on the internet, looking a the different types of wings, and that is where I found the picture seen below.

I have decided to use this shape for my Phoenix since it is unusual and I am intrigued by the power displayed by the wings.

Here you can see my two completed design sheets including both my experimentations and research into the deeper meaning of the Phoenix.

I want to base my piece on the idea 'Transformation and Potential' which is why instead of having just a picture of a Phoenix, I am going to have a cut out of the bird which I will project onto the wall behind it using charcoal and a projector

I will include a suitcase in my installation and a path with photographs showing my transformation from little girl, to school girl to young woman which rises out of the case leading to my Phoenix. I am considering illuminating my installation.

After deciding on the shape of the bird I drew it out on a piece of thick card in pencil.

I then cut the bird out ready to be painted

I first added a light wash of yellow in  acrylics...

...and then started to add darker tones to my work especially the feathers on the wings.

Even though I have not finished it yet I am vey pleased with how the wings have turned out.
