Drawing- RAF Photocopies

In our Drawing lectures the RAF project involved creating mood boards using collage and mix medias. I mainly used magazine cut-outs for my piece, both from ones I bought at RAF Cosford, and ones provided by my lecturer. I based it mainly around Japanese aircrafts and lettering, since even though I do not understand it, I find the shapes and forms extremely fascinating.

I also produced other photocopies that I made both using the cut outs and my main piece, which can be seen below:

I made this using acrylic paint, and a photocopy. I am pleased with the way that by spreading the acrylic paint it makes the image look like an intimidating war scene with a blood red floor and an ominous mushroom shape in the background.

I made the two above using acetate and a diagram of the internal structure of a plane. I would have to say that these two are my favourite, especially the negative image seen on the left since it reminds me of blue prints.

I kept these two very simplistic to experiment with the idea of negative space

This one involves a cut-out of a tank and what I think looks like some form of military order form. I printed it onto parcel paper giving it an almost sepia effect.
